You can catch me performing with the Copper Cats on The Red Jacket Jamboree on Sunday, July 24, 2022! We will be recording two performances including a Celebration of 20th Century piano composers. I'm very delighted to introduce folks in the Midwest to Jazz vocalist Maya Belardo of Wilmington, Delaware who will be performing with us. Tickets are available now at www.redjacketjamboree.org.
Catch Younce Guitar Duo on The Red Jacket Jamboree's "Christmas in the Keweenaw" airing on WNMU Public Radio 90 on December 8th at 3pm EST. I'll also be playing tunes with the Copper Cats featuring myself on guitar, Bill Carrothers on Piano, Harry South on Bass and Zach Ott on percussion. Guest vocalist for the show is Jennifer Barnet. The Red Jacket Jamboree is an old-time radio variety show sharing songs, stories, history and music from Michigan's Keweenaw Peninsula. This episode was recorded in December 2019 in front of a live audience at the Rozsa Center for the Performing Arts. Don't forget to tune in! You can also listen to the broadcast via a online stream.
Had a great time directing and performing with the Copper Cats on the recording of the 39th and 40th episode of The Red Jacket Jamboree at the Keweenaw Storytelling Center in Calumet, Michigan. The guest performer was the wonderful Nellie McKay! (seen in the front with Bessie) What a pleasure to work with all these talented performers! My son, Ryan, and I had a great time at the annual Arts Midwest Conference in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Not only did Younce Guitar Duo book into several new venues, we reconnected with some old friends and as well as connecting with new performers and booking agents. We really appreciate the opportunity to connect with venues! Thank you Arts Midwest for making it possible. Our 2020 performance calendar is filling up! We'd love to perform in your community or at your venue! Contact us now so we may get you on the schedule. (photo below: Ryan and I at the Younce Guitar Duo booth at Arts Midwest)
